Matt Valentine is the Chairman and Founder of USL Dallas, leading the club’s strategic direction across business and sporting operations. A seasoned entrepreneur with over 25 years in corporate finance, capital markets, and investment strategy, Matt’s career reflects his business acumen and enduring passion for soccer.

As a driving force behind USL Dallas, Matt brings a fresh perspective, aiming to establish the club as a cornerstone of local soccer. His vision is for USL Dallas to foster deep community connections, nurture young talent, and become the premier choice for soccer fans in North Texas.

After growing up in Arlington, Matt played college soccer at Washington University and briefly trained with the reserve team of Atlas Futbol Club in Guadalajara, Mexico. His two sons are both accomplished athletes: Collin pitches for Pepperdine University’s baseball team, while Reid recently signed with Texoma FC, a USL League One team. Outside his work with USL Dallas, Matt enjoys golf, skiing, and supporting initiatives focused on homelessness.

As Chief Commercial Officer and Co-Founder of USL Dallas, Sam Morton leads the development of the club’s business operations, including marketing, communications, sponsorship, merchandising, and ticketing. His goal is to establish USL Dallas as a top USL Championship team.  Sam’s passion, leadership, and commitment to community engagement are driving forces in his vision to reshape the local sports landscape and create a lasting legacy for soccer in North Texas.

With over two decades of media & marketing experience at CBS Radio and iHeart Media, Sam brings extensive expertise in team building, cultural leadership, and strategic growth. He was the first sales manager of 105.3 The Fan and has collaborated on many play by play partnerships, including the Dallas Cowboys, Texas Rangers, St. Louis Cardinals, Houston Texans, and Dallas Mavericks.

Sam has called Texas home since he was eight, growing up alongside his long-time friend and business partner, Matt. A former club soccer player at Sam Houston State University, he remains an avid fan of the English Premier League. He and his wife live in Plano with their three children. Outside of work, Sam enjoys golfing, cooking, and is passionate about supporting families affected by autism, inspired by his eldest son, Merritt.

Luther Ott, Director of Corporate Strategy and a founding member of USL Dallas, leads the club’s corporate strategy, negotiation efforts, long-term planning, and real estate development. With over 30 years in finance, Luther has a deep background in hedge funds, private investment ventures, and entrepreneurial projects. After completing his master’s in sports management from LSU, he began as a Financial Consultant at Salomon Smith Barney before launching Subway Capital, a statistical arbitrage hedge fund. His career also includes co-founding multiple businesses with partner Matt Valentine, guiding companies across diverse sectors.

A former competitive soccer and college baseball player, Luther’s sports background fuels his passion for building a club that mirrors the close-knit community ties seen in European teams. He aims to create a team that feels like an extension of North Texas, engaging the community in every aspect of the club’s journey.

Originally from Jackson, Mississippi, Luther now lives in Dallas with his wife, Gabrielle, and their four children. Outside of work, he enjoys golf, hunting and fishing, and is a strong advocate for causes addressing homelessness and learning differences. With a unique blend of business acumen and a competitive spirit, Luther is excited to help shape the future of USL Dallas.
